This is my first San Martin. I did not buy any, just because I hate homage watches. San Martin started with original designs, and I wanted to see if the hype behind the brand is legit. So let’s get to the point. The good: Everything about the watch head. The dial is gorgeous. The pattern is not as pronounced as with other colors, but I don’t mind. The case is great, the brushing and polishing is immaculate, no sharp edges there. The Miota movement runs at +2sec. The bad: The bracelet design is great and beautiful, original, one of the best I have seen. I don’t mind that it does not sit flat on the table, it looks great on the hand. But the execution is far from the best. On the bottom part, everything is horribly sharp. I checked all my other watches and could not find one with this unacceptable sharpness. Also, the edges of links are sharp. The clasp looks good, but the on the fly adjustment is sharp as everything else and gritty to operate. The quick release is missing, which is really a bummer. The price. I think it is still great. But let’s not be delusional. It’s not a 1K watch. I compared it to my Christopher ward C63, same type of watch. CW exceeds at every single point. Design of case, more expensive movement, everything is incredibly smooth, even the screw down crown operates on another level. SM is gritty, CW buttery smooth. I think San Martin is on a great path, it just needs some time to get everything right. At the end: Chinese should drop these silly Americanized names and be proud of their heritage, rebrand to Chinese names.

This is also my first San Martin watch. I sometimes buy homage watches because either I don’t have the money for the original or if it is a type of watch I only occasionally would wear. Still, it turns out I chose an original design here. I am very impressed with what San Martin did for the price. I really like the movement (Miyota 9015) which I mainly know from Zelos and it surely contributes to the thinness of the watch, which is an aspect I am always looking for unless it’s a chronograph or a (deep-)diver.
I really like how the bracelet looks, I have never seen this style and I often found that steel bracelets were boring, not at all in this case! I did not notice any sharpness btw., but maybe I am not sensitive in that regard.
There is not a single thing I don’t like about the watch. Maybe two very small things: I probably would have chosen another color than red for the tip of the second hand, maybe yellow, but maybe that would have clashed too much. I don’t know. And I wish the pattern on the dial would have been just a tiny bit more pronounced, from the images I got the impression. Still, it is very beautiful and the star of the show.
I am looking forward to future original designs!

I ordered my SN0144-GX (blue/turquoise dial) and received the watch after 5 days in The Netherlands.
Exquisite watch. The dial, bracelet, detailing, finishing, and wear comfort is superb. I own quite some watches and also watches around the 1000 euro price point. But none are as stunning as this watch. The finishing and quality is excellent in itself, but especially considering the price point of 300-350 euros.
Thank you San Martin. Looking forward to buy a new watch from you. I hope you will develop and produce a dress watch with a deep/dark green dial, such as the G***d S***o A***a V****y (no lume on hour marks or watch hands). I would definitely buy a watch like that from San Martin.

This watch is, without a doubt, a real bueaty. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and seriously I still just enjoy looking at it. Works perfectly. I’ve had a quartz Swatch watch for 16 years and finally decided I want an upgrade. I do not regret my decision. Generally when opening the watch it felt a bit smaller than I anticipated, based on many yt videos and photos. So, just make sure that maybe 42mm could be a better match. However it is super-duper comfortable to wear. The clasp adjustment allows for a perfect fit and also you can easily readjust it if it gets hot/cold. Looks incredible. Incredibly comfortable. Unbeatable price. What else do you really need? Beyond that I guess you only get a subjective feeling of luxury. But that is only MY own opinion, definitely not an objective truth. This watch, I totally recommend. I’m pretty sure I will not stop at it and get another SM in the future.

Highlight of this watch is quite clearly the dial, which is a real stunner. The finishing of the case and braclet is quite good, only the inner edges of the bracelet could be a bit smoother for my taste. With the Miyota 9015 this watch offers quite a lot “bang for the buck”. There is a quality control issue with my watch, though: The AR-coating on the under side of the crystal has a scratch. But since that is only visible in certain lighting conditions I will keep the watch: concessions must be made for a watch in this price range.
